The Parliament adopts this organic law.
(1) This law regulates role and powers of the Highest trial chamber, method of selection and appointment of her judges.
(2) Activities of the Highest trial chamber are regulated by the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, this law and other regulations in that measure in what they do not contradict this law.
(1) the Highest trial chamber is the highest degree of jurisdiction of the Republic of Moldova.
(2) the Role of the Highest trial chamber consists in ensuring uniform interpretation and application of the legislation in judicial system.
The highest trial chamber performs the following powers:
a) considers the categories of cases established by the law as the first instance;
b) considers the cases having social and legal value as cassation instance and also put in which especially heavy violations of the law and human rights are revealed;
c) considers applications for review in the cases established by the law;
d) sends request about exceptional case of illegality of the regulations which are subject to application in case of permission of specific case;
e) considers other types of statements and points of law provided by the law.
(1) For the purpose of ensuring uniform interpretation and application of the legislation in judicial system the Highest trial chamber:
a) develops application guides of the procedural legislation, individualization of criminal penalties and punishments for offenses;
b) takes out at the request of degrees of jurisdiction advisory proceedings about application of the legislation;
