About modification and amendments in some legal acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with further enhancement of system of reliable protection of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of women and children

In the country the large-scale work directed to radical enhancement of the institutional and legal basis of reliable protection of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of women and children from oppressions and violence, the prevention of neglect among children and making of offenses by them and also the state support of children with disability and children without parental support is carried out.

At the same time today in practice of law enforcement in the questions connected with reliable protection of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of women there is number of problems. In particular, proportionate sanctions for the criminal actions affecting the rights of women and children are not established there are no legal guarantees of protection of women against harassments and violence, effective period of the order providing the state protection to the victim of oppressions and violence (thirty days) does not allow to provide sufficient protection of the rights and legitimate interests of women, imposing of penalty as punishment for nonpayment of the alimony causes still great financial difficulties.

Besides, activities of the Republican interdepartmental commission on cases of the minor, interdepartmental commissions on cases of minors of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, areas and the city of Tashkent, areas (cities) are reformed and they are transformed respectively to the National commission on questions of children, the commissions on questions of children of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, areas, the city of Tashkent and areas (cities).

This Law makes changes to the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan providing enhancement of the legislation regulating questions of support of women in realization of their rights and interests in the social and economic sphere on the basis of international standards and also the fixing legal basis of activities of the commission on questions of children.

This Law will serve the prevention of harassments and violence against women and children, improvement of the moral circle in families, improvement of line item of the country in the international indexes connected with the rights of children and women and also creates the strong legal basis of activities of the National commission on questions of children, the commissions on questions of children of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, areas, the city of Tashkent and areas (cities).

Article 1.
