The Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic, hereinafter referred to as "Parties", proceeding from aspiration of the people of two countries to preserving and consolidation of historical and traditionally friendly bonds and the relations of neighborliness,

confirming commitment to obligations concerning providing human rights and freedoms according to the commonly accepted international standards,

wishing to provide to citizens of the Parties favorable conditions for realization on the basis of free declaration of will of option and acquisition of nationality of other Party,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

1. Each Party will provide to the citizens of other Party arriving for permanent residence to its territory the right to acquire nationality in the simplified procedure in the presence at the applicant at least of one of the close relatives who are constantly living on legal causes in the territory of the Party of acquired nationality and being her citizens: the spouse (spouses), one of parents (adoptive parents or adopters), the child (including adopted), sisters, the brother, the grandfather or the grandmother, the grandson or the granddaughter.

2. The procedure specified in Item 1 of this Article is applied irrespective of accommodation term in the territory of the Party of acquired nationality.

3. Availability of the family relations provided in Item 1 of this Article is not obligatory in case of acceptance in nationality of one of the Parties of the citizens who are ethnic Tajiks and/or ethnic Kyrgyz, arrived to permanent residence on the historical Homeland.

4. Acquisition of nationality of one Party and getting out of nationality of other Party is made on the basis of free declaration of will of interested persons according to the legislation of the Parties and provisions of this agreement.

Article 2

1. For acquisition of nationality of one Party the citizen of other Party submits the following documents to competent authorities of other Party:
