1. The purpose of this Federal Law is providing legal conditions of use of the digital signature in electronic documents in case of which observance the digital signature in the electronic document is recognized to the equivalent sign manual the paper document.
2. Operation of this Federal Law extends to the relations arising when making civil transactions and in others stipulated by the legislation cases of the Russian Federation. Operation of this Federal Law does not extend to the relations arising when using other analogs of the sign manual.
Legal regulation of the relations in the field of use of the digital signature is performed according to this Federal Law, the Civil code of the Russian Federation, the Federal Law "About Information, Informatization and Information Security", the Federal Law "About Communication", other Federal Laws and other regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation accepted according to them, and also performed by the agreement of the parties.
For the purposes of this Federal Law the following basic concepts are used:
the electronic document - the document in which information is provided in electronic and digital form;
