This constitutional Law establishes the legal basis of use of state language in the Kyrgyz Republic and implementation of the state language policy, obligation of state bodies, organizations, the organizations and local government bodies in creation of conditions for its development, provides the right of citizens to use of state language of the Kyrgyz Republic.
1. According to the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic state language of the Kyrgyz Republic is the Kyrgyz language.
2. The status of the Kyrgyz language as state language in the Kyrgyz Republic provides obligation of its use in all spheres determined by this constitutional Law and other regulatory legal acts.
3. In all spheres of use of state language orthoepic, spelling, stylistic, grammatical regulations of the Kyrgyz literary language are observed.
The alphabet of the Kyrgyz literary language and the rule of orthoepy, spelling affirm Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.
4. The state language is the language of international communication in the Kyrgyz Republic combining all ethnoses of the Kyrgyz Republic and promoting strengthening of their mutual understanding and bonds.
Obligation of use of state language of the Kyrgyz Republic shall not be interpreted as denial or derogation of the right of ethnoses of the Kyrgyz Republic to use of their native language.
