About overcoming tuberculosis in Ukraine

This Law determines legal, organizational and financial basis of the activities directed to overcoming tuberculosis, ensuring medical care to the people having tuberculosis and equal access to it and establishes the rights, obligations and responsibility of legal entities and physical persons in the field of overcoming tuberculosis taking into account provisions of global strategy and the purposes in area of prevention, treatment and the fight against tuberculosis for the period after 2015 approved by the 67th session of the World assembly of health care in May, 2014.

Section I. General provisions

Article 1. Determination of terms

1. In this Law the stated below terms are used in the following value:

1) hospitalization room of the person having tuberculosis in stationary department of the regional ftiziopulmonologichesky center for the purpose of diagnostics, treatment or isolation;

2) diagnosis of latent tubercular infection carrying out of diagnostic tests for identification of people with latent tuberculosis infection by specially prepared health workers according to the procedure, established by the central executive body providing forming also realizes state policy in the field of health care;

3) isolation department from people around of the person who has tuberculosis with bakteriovydeleniye, for the purpose of delivery of health care, prevention of transmission of infection to other persons and control of observance by such person of the anti-epidemic mode;

4) infectious control of tuberculosis system of organizational, anti-epidemic and preventive actions, established by the central executive body providing forming also realizes state policy in the field of health care, in the standard of infectious control of tuberculosis, directed to the prevention of emergence of tuberculosis and decrease in probability of transfer of mycobacteria of tuberculosis to healthy people, superinfections of the people having tuberculosis in healthcare institutions, places of long-term stay of people and accommodation of the people having tuberculosis;
