In the country system work on support of entrepreneurship and development of healthy competitive environment in economy, consumer protection and public health care is carried out.

At the same time on the basis of the principle "For honor and advantage of the person" for the purpose of ensuring health of the population there is need of suppression of production and turnover of counterfeit and low-quality goods, the early prevention of offenses.

This Law to the Criminal code of the Republic of Uzbekistan makes changes concerning strengthening of responsibility for production, storage, transportation for the purpose of sale, sale of goods, performance of works or rendering the services which are not meeting safety requirements of life or health of consumers, establishments of criminal liability for illegal production of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and tobacco products.

Along with it, this Law makes the changes in the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan about the administrative responsibility directed to strengthening of responsibility for violation of the sanitary legislation and veterinary rules, illegal use of someone else's trademark, and also establishment of the administrative responsibility for abuse of regulations of quarantine in case of identification of the centers of infectious diseases of animals, regulations of safety of veterinary medicines and feed additives.
