About production and turnover of organic products

This Law determines the legal, economic, social and organizational basis of production and turnover of organic products directed to preserving and rational use of natural resources, assistance in forming of healthy food and market development of organic products.

Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. The basic concepts used in this Law

In this Law the following basic concepts are used:

1) organic products - agricultural products, products from wild-growing plants, the seeds of agricultural plants, yeast and mushrooms, products of their conversion, including food products meeting the requirements of this Law and national standards. Organic products are not products of hunting and fishery;

2) turnover of organic products - processes (stages) of realization (purchase and sale or delivery) of organic products, including import (import) and export (export) of organic products, and also the related processes of packing, packaging, marking, storage, transportation and other processes;

3) system of accounting and traceability of organic products - the part of information system of authorized body in the field of production and turnover of organic products containing data on organic products and its components, on production process and turnover of organic products;

4) marking of organic products - drawing information on organic products in the form of texts, drawings, signs, symbols, other designations and (or) their combinations on consumer packaging, shipping package or on other type of the data carrier attached to consumer packaging and (or) to shipping package either placed in them or attached to them;

5) national mark of conformity of organic products - the mark of conformity informing consumers on passing by production of organic products of the procedure of confirmation of conformity of production of organic products;
