About introduction of amendments to the Law "About Local Self-government"

Article 1. Article 19 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia of May 7, 2002, ZR-337 "About local self-government":

1) to state part 1 in the following edition:

"1. The member of council of elders of community cannot at the same time.

1) to hold executive position in the organizations of municipal subordination;

2) to work in the community device.

3) to hold the state positions or positions of public service, except for positions of the head of municipality, the first deputy head of municipality, the acting as the head of the municipality having the Council of Elders elected on pro rata electoral system;

4) to hold position of executive body of the state non-profit organization.".

2) to state part 2 in the following edition:

"2. In cases of occupation of the incompatible positions established by part of 1 this Article, the member of local government board shall refuse in week time membership in local government board according to the written application submitted to the head of municipality, otherwise its powers stop ahead of schedule according to the procedure, established by this Law.".

Article 2. Final part and transitional provision

1. This law becomes effective next day after its official publication.

2. Operation of this law does not extend to persons who to the introduction of this law in force combined the state position or position of public service with position of the member of local government board. These persons can continue joint operation about day of convocation of the first meeting of the given newly elected Council of Elders.
