About introduction of amendments to the Law on protection of geographical instructions, names of places of origin and the guaranteed traditional products No. 66/2008

The Parliament adopts this organic law.

Single Article. – The law on protection of geographical instructions, names of places of origin and the guaranteed traditional products No. 66/2008 (2008, Art. No. 134-137, 527), with subsequent changes, to mark the official monitor of the Republic of Moldova with the sign "UE" and to make the following changes to it:

1. After formula of acceptance to add the law with formula of harmonization of the following content:

"This law shifts:

– The directive of the European parliament and Council 2004/48/EU of April 29, 2004 about providing the intellectual property rights, published in the Official magazine of the European Union by L 157 of April 30, 2004;

and also partially shifts:

– Regulations of the European parliament and Council (EU) No. 1151/2012 of November 21, 2012 about schemes of quality for agricultural products and food published in the Official magazine of the European Union by L 343 of December 14, 2012;

– Regulations of the Commission (EU) the No. 607/2009 of July 14, 2009 establishing rules of application of Regulations of Council (EU) No. 479/2008 concerning the protected names of places of origin and geographical instructions, traditional designations, markings and representations of separate products of wine industry, published in the Official magazine of the European Union by L 193 of July 24, 2009.".

2. In Article 2:

exclude the concept "place name";

the concept "geographical specifying" after words "other characteristics which" to add with the words "substantially";

state the concept "name of the place of origin" of the following edition:
