State members of the Meeting on interaction and measures of trust in Asia (further respectively - state members, the Meeting), for the purpose of realization of provisions of the Almaty Act of June 4, 2002 of creation of the Secretariat of SVMDA (further - the Secretariat), and also for determination of its functions, structure and the principles of financing,

agreed as follows:

Article 1. General provisions

1. As a result of the signature of this agreement the Secretariat is created. The secretariat is permanent body which performs the functions according to the principles and the purposes stated in the Almaty Act of June 4, 2002, provisions of Rules of procedure of the Meeting of October 22, 2004, by this agreement and Financial rules which are integral part of this agreement.

2. The secretariat is located in the city of Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan (further - the host party).

3. Working languages of the Secretariat are the English and Russian languages.

Article 2. Functions of the Secretariat

The secretariat within the competence:

a) provides administrative, organizational and technical support to meetings and other activities specified in the Almaty Act of June 4, 2002 and Rules of procedure of the Meeting of October 22, 2004;

b) establishes and conducts archive of documents of the Meeting;

c) is effective as the center of collection, processing and document distribution and the information provided by state members, received from other international organizations and forums, providing their distribution as it is determined in the Catalogue of measures of trust of the Meeting of October 22, 2004 and other documents accepted within the Meeting;

d) extends general information about the Meeting;

e) also obtains and distributes information on accomplishment of measures of trust among state members on the basis of information on their mutual arrangement provided by them;
