According to the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic in the existing borders is inviolable and indivisible.
This Law establishes and fixes the legal basis of protection of frontier of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The frontier of the Kyrgyz Republic (daleegosudarstvenny border) is the line and the vertical surface passing across this line, the determining limits of the state territory (sushi, waters, subsoil and airspace) the Kyrgyz Republic, that is space limit of action of sovereignty of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Kyrgyz Republic, proceeding from the international principles of mutual respect of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of frontiers, the proclaimed successorship concerning the former USSR:
- considers frontier as the line determining legally enforceable space limit of the territory (sushi, waters, subsoil, airspace) on which the Kyrgyz Republic has all completeness of the sovereign rights;
- confirms passing of the frontier established by the international treaties existing on the date of entry into force of this Law including acts of administrative-territorial differentiation of the Kyrgyz Republic and the republics of the former USSR;
