About encouragement of breastfeeding of children and distribution of baby food

Chapter I. General provisions

Article 1. Subject of regulation of the law

1. This law governs the relations connected with encouragement of breastfeeding of children, turnover of baby food and the accompanying goods productions, marking, sale, distribution, advertizing, and also informing and distribution of information on them.

Article 2. Law purpose

1. The purpose of this Law is providing healthy and safe food of babies and children of early age by means of encouragement of breastfeeding, regulation of turnover of baby food and joint products.

Article 3. Law tasks

1. Tasks of this law are:

1) to encourage and protect breastfeeding as optimum and uncontested method of providing safe and adequate (adequate) food of babies and children of early age;

2) to encourage timely and adequate additional food;

3) to inform the public, including expectant mothers, their families and persons performing care of children on the breastfeeding benefits, potential dangers and risks to health connected with use of substitutes of breast milk and misuse, providing the relevant, exact and available information;

4) to encourage and support creation of the favorable circle for mothers, babies and children of early age in the organizations of health care, public places and on workplaces;

5) to bring the legislation concerning encouragement of breastfeeding, the address of baby food and joint products into compliance with international standards;

6) to encourage and protect breastfeeding as effective method of fight against poverty.

Article 4. The basic concepts used in the law
