Chapter I. General provisions

Article 1. Purpose of federal courier communication

Federal courier communication in the Russian Federation is provided with bodies of federal courier communication - the federal executive body performing special functions in the field of ensuring federal courier communication in the Russian Federation which is component of forces and safety controls of the Russian Federation and acts for the benefit of legislative, executive and judicial authority of the Russian Federation, and also for the purpose of protection of state interests of the Russian Federation, and its territorial authorities.

Powers of the federal executive body performing special functions in the field of ensuring federal courier communication in the Russian Federation are determined by this Federal Law and provision approved in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation.

Article 2. Tasks of bodies of federal courier communication

The main objectives of bodies of federal courier communication are:

1) delivery to the federal cities, the capitals and the administrative centers of subjects of the Russian Federation and back, the capitals of the State Parties of the Agreement on Intergovernmental courier communication of departures of special importance, absolutely confidential, confidential and other office departures (further - correspondence):
