According to Item 1 of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of October 8, 1997 No. 18 "About compulsory insurance of the structures belonging to citizens" object of compulsory insurance are the structures (apartment houses and economic (subsidiary) constructions, including garages, located in borders of certain parcel of land) belonging on the property right to citizens of the Republic of Belarus, foreign citizens and stateless persons (daleestrakhovatel) and which are constantly used for accommodation and economic needs by insurers, members of their families or other persons with the consent of the owner. Exemption of insurance premiums of disabled people of the Great Patriotic War and persons equated to them is provided in item 4 of the called Decree.
