The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of rendering psychological assistance to the population.
The legislation on rendering psychological assistance to the population consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about rendering psychological assistance to the population then are applied rules of the international treaty.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
the psychologist - the physical person having the right to rendering psychological assistance according to this Law;
psychological assistance - package of measures, the crisis situations realized according to standards of rendering psychological assistance, directed to prevention and elimination of their effects, improvement of the interpersonal relations and mental health, development of the personality or rendering psychological impact for improvement of social adaptation of the person;
standards of rendering psychological assistance - the document determining single requirements to rendering psychological assistance to the population;
psychological problem - the condition of sincere discomfort of person caused by dissatisfaction with, the professional activity, the relations with other persons, situation in family and (or) other problems of private life;
crisis situation - the factors and conditions leading to vital changes and emergence of psychological problems with which person cannot cope by methods, usual for it.
