In the country the large-scale reforms directed to further democratization of the judicial and legal sphere and realization of constitutional rights of citizens are performed.
For the purpose of strengthening of guarantees of providing the rights of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan in foreign states, the Republic of Uzbekistan signs international treaties with some foreign states on acceptance and transfer to foreign state of persons condemned to imprisonment for further serving sentence and also persons concerning whom enforcement powers of medical nature, are applied to further forced treatment.
With respect thereto, today there is need of establishment of the rules for the Code of penal procedure of the Republic of Uzbekistan providing the regulations regulating recognition and the enforcement of judgment of foreign state, basis of acceptance and transfer of convicts and persons to whom enforcement powers of medical nature, and also procedural participants status of legal procedure are applied.
This Law Code of Penal Procedure of the Republic of Uzbekistan it is supplemented with new Chapter 66, providing recognition and the enforcement of judgment of foreign state, acceptance and transfer of the convict to imprisonment for further serving sentence, and also person to whom enforcement powers of medical nature are applied to further passing of forced treatment. Also the bases of acceptance and transfer of convicts to imprisonment and persons to whom enforcement powers of medical nature, procedural participants status of legal procedure are applied are established.
