The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of telecommunications.
The legislation on telecommunications consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
The relations connected with functioning of networks of telecommunications for needs of defense, state security and law enforcement agencies are regulated by separate acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about telecommunications then are applied rules of the international treaty.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
the communication line - set of the devices, constructions and cable lines and (or) radio lines providing transfer and distribution of signals from the transmitter to the receiver;
domain name - the unique name appropriated to information resource or information system, serving for their identification in the world information Internet;
system of domain names - procedure for assignment, registration and use of domain names on the world information Internet;
tariff plan - set of the prices and specifications provided by the operator of telecommunications and provider of services of telecommunications to users of services of telecommunications for use of one or several services;
internetwork connections - the technological interaction of networks of telecommunications of different operators of telecommunications providing transfer and acceptance of information between users of services of telecommunications;
