The agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on carrying out coordinated policy in the field of transport and communications

of April 5, 1996

The government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan the hereinafter referred to as Parties,

being guided by the Contract on creation of the Common economic space between the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan, and also agreements signed in its development,

proceeding from need of strengthening and development of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz-Uzbek trade and economic relations for the benefit of three states,

attaching significance to coordination of joint activities in the field of transport and communications,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties, recognizing that assistance to development of international trade, tourism and transport is equitable to interests of all interested countries of the region, will assist in every possible way carrying out in the states of the mutually agreed policy in the field of development of transport and communications directed to implementation of effective transportations of passengers and loads capable to satisfy requirements, of both the internal, and foreign market on services of transport and communication and will perform transition to the duty-free and tax-exempt omission of loads, vehicles and communication services.

Article 2

The parties, noting that the international coordination of cooperation in the field of simplification of transportations could make useful contribution to development of international trade and transportation of goods in the region, intend to promote creation of joint businesses, transnational production associations and corporations, to provide fair competition, to create equal economic conditions and opportunities for all Business entities, and also to determine priority projects in the field of transport and communications, to provide their joint financing for the purpose of creation of the Common Economic Space, free movement of goods, services, the capitals and labor power.
