About introduction of amendments to the Law on seeds No. 68/2013

The Parliament adopts this organic law.

Art. I. – In the Law on seeds No. 68/2013 (Official monitor of the Republic of Moldova, 2013, Art. No. 130-134, 417), with subsequent changes, to make the following changes:

1. In all text of the law of the word "The law on biological safety No. 755-XV of December 21, 2001" shall be replaced with words "The law on regulation and control of genetically modified organisms No. 152/2022".

2. In part (1) Article 2:

state the concept "quality certificate" of the following edition:

"the quality certificate – the document issued by accredited laboratory in Romanian or language of the international communication confirming quality of the seeds intended for realization;";

exclude the concept "the quality certificate for import";

after the concept "batch of seeds" to add part with concept of the following content:

"the material CAC (Conformitas Agraria Communitatis) – the landing material and material for reproduction of fruit plants having proper high-quality identity and purity and intended for production of material for reproduction, production of landing material of fruit plants and/or production of fruit;";

add the concept "seeds" with words: ", including landing material;".

3. In Article 4:

2) to state Item in the following edition:

"2) develops recommendations concerning scope of scientific research about creation and improvement of grades, and also on development of production technologies of seeds of plants, maintenance and preserving fund of genetic resources;";

3) to declare Item invalid;

4) to add Item with the subitem f) the following content:

"f) stimulation of development of industry of seed farming by carrying out the corresponding policy.".

4. In Article 5:

in part (words to "The Ministry of Agriculture and the food industry" to replace 1) with the word to "Government";
