About introduction of amendments to the Law on the public pension system No. 156/1998 (minimum pension on age for persons whose labor activity exceeds 40 years)

Art. I. – In the Law on the public pension system No. 156/1998 (repeated publication: The official monitor of the Republic of Moldova, 2004, Art. No. 42-44, 247), with subsequent changes to make the following changes:

1. Add Article 12 with part (1-1) following contents:

"(1-1) Size of minimum pension on age for persons whose insurance years of service constitute at least 40 years is established annually by the Government and shall be at least equal to the size of minimum pension for previous year indexed according to part (2) Article 13.".

2. Add Article 16 with part (2-1) following of content:

"(2-1) If the estimated size of old-age pension for persons whose insurance years of service constitute at least 40 years is less than the size of minimum pension, established in part (11) Articles 12, the corresponding minimum pension is granted.".

Art. II. – (1) This law becomes effective since May 1, 2025.

(2) to the Government in three-months time from the date of publication of this law in the Official monitor of the Republic of Moldova to bring the regulations into accord with its provisions.
