About the Autonomous Republic of Crimea

Article 1. The Autonomous Republic of Crimea is administrative-territorial autonomy as a part of Ukraine.

Article 2. The Autonomous Republic of Crimea independently resolves the issues carried to its maintaining by the Constitution of Ukraine, this Law, other laws of Ukraine and the Constitution of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Article 3. The constitution of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, change and amendment to it are accepted by the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and become effective after approval by their Supreme Council of Ukraine.

The constitution of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea is organic part of the legislation of Ukraine and cannot contradict the Constitution of Ukraine.

Article 4. The Autonomous Republic of Crimea on the questions carried to its maintaining has the right to adopt legal acts which shall not contradict the Constitution of Ukraine, this Law and other laws of Ukraine, and also the Constitution of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The laws of Ukraine adopted on the questions carried to maintaining the Autonomous Republic of Crimea act on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea before adoption of the corresponding legal acts of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Article 5. The Autonomous Republic of Crimea is effective within the territory of the former Crimean region as a part of Ukraine.

The city of Sevastopol is administrative and territorial unit of nation-wide subordination and is not part of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The status of the city of Sevastopol is determined by the laws of Ukraine.

Article 6. Regulatory authority of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea is the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Executive body of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea is the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Municipal authorities in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea are rural, settlement, district, city, district Councils and their executive bodies in the cities.
