About introduction of amendments to the Law on the museums No. 262/2017

The Parliament adopts this organic law.

Art. I. - In the Law on the museums No. 262/2017 (Official monitor of the Republic of Moldova, 2018, Art. No. 7-17, 42), with subsequent changes, to make the following changes:

1. In all text of the law:

words "museum institution" in the corresponding number and case to replace with the word "museum" in the corresponding number and case;

the words "the museums which are in public property", in the corresponding case shall be replaced with words "the public museums" in the corresponding case;

the words "the museums which are in private property", in the corresponding case shall be replaced with words "the private museums" in the corresponding case.

2. In Article 2:

"museum" to state concept of the following edition:

"the museum - the cultural institution of public or private law serving to public concerns which is engaged in purchase, storage, studying, restoration and development, in particular by means of exhibiting, material and non-material heritage. As open for general public, available and inclusive organization the museum advances variety and sustainable development, works and performs communication with respect for ethical standards, at the professional level, with participation of communities and offering various practicians for training, carrying out leisure, reflection and knowledge sharing;";

after concept "museum" to add Article with concept of the following content:

"the virtual museum - the digital organization performing the functions by exhibiting and promotion of the digitized museum collections for the purpose of education and knowledge sharing, access to which is provided by visitors and is provided by means of connection to the Internet with use of new technologies;".

3. To state the name of Chapter II in the following edition:

"Chapter II. Organization, functions and classification of the museums".

4. State Article 3 in the following edition:

"Article 3. Organization of the museums
