This Law establishes the state guarantees and compensations on compensation of additional material and physiological costs to citizens in connection with work and accommodation in extreme climatic conditions of the North.

Section I. General provisions

Article 1. Operation of this Law

Operation of this Law extends to persons working on hiring is permanent or temporary, in the organizations located in the region of the Far North and areas equated to them, irrespective of patterns of ownership, and persons living in the specified areas and areas.

In the cases provided by this Law, guarantees and compensations are provided to the unemployed pensioners, military personnel dismissed on age or in connection with reducing the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, to persons studying in the professional educational organizations and the educational organizations of the higher education and also the members of families who arrived to the region of the Far North and those categorized as such of the area together with the supporter.

Guarantees and compensations for the persons working and living in the region of the Far North and the areas equated to them in the organizations financed from the federal budget are established by the Federal Laws, in the organizations financed from budgets of subjects of the Russian Federation, - the laws of subjects of the Russian Federation, in the organizations financed from local budgets, municipal legal acts, in the organizations which are not relating to the budget sphere, - the employer, except as specified, provided by this Law.
