recognizing that the cooperation in the field of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations can help welfare and safety of both countries,

noting advantage which exchange of scientific and technical information in the field of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations can have,

in view of availability of the interconnected ecological systems requiring carrying out coordinated policy according to the prevention of industrial accidents, natural disasters and liquidation of other emergency situations, the organization of single monitoring of the environment

considering possibility of emergency situations which cannot be liquidated by forces of one country, and the need for the coordinated actions of the Parties for liquidation of emergency situations caused by it,

emphasizing role of the United Nations, other international organizations in the field of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties will perform cooperation in the following areas which are of mutual interest:

1. Development and enhancement of measures and methods of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations.

2. Monitoring and forecasting of natural hazards, natural disasters, industrial accidents and other emergency situations, and also assessment of their effects.

3. Creation of the procedure for implementation of timely and direct connection for the purpose of exchange of information about the emergency situations taking place in the territory of their countries, requests and offers of the Parties on the help, and also for the contacts with relevant international organizations which are of mutual interest.

4. Rendering mutual aid on mitigation of consequences of the arising emergency situations.

5. Involvement of the international organizations for increase in readiness of their countries for the prevention of emergency situations and to assistance in case of their origin.
