Section I. General provisions

Article 1. Principles of donorship of blood and its components

Donorship of blood and its components - freely expressed voluntary act.

Public authorities of the Russian Federation encourage and keep development of voluntary non-paid (free) donorship.

The blood and its components applied in the medical purposes can be received only from the person.

Each capable citizen since 18 years who underwent physical examination can be the blood donor of its components.

Capture from the blood donor and its components is admissible only under condition if harm is not done to health of the donor.

Article 2. Legislation of the Russian Federation on donorship of blood and its components

The legislation of the Russian Federation on donorship of blood and its components consists of this Law and legal acts of the Russian Federation published according to it and subjects of the Russian Federation.

Are determined by the legislation of the Russian Federation:

basic principles of the organization of donorship of blood and its components;

the rights and obligations of donors, the organizations of health care and other organizations in the specified sphere;

procedure for activities, financing and material logistics of the organizations of health care performing procurement, conversion, storage of donor blood and its components;

organization and procedure of control of quality of blood, its components;
