About stimulation of development of regions
This Law determines legal, economic and organizational basis of realization of the state regional policy by stimulation of development of regions and overcoming depressiveness of the territories.
In this Law terms are used in the following value:
the region - the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, area, cities of Kiev and Sevastopol;
stimulation of development of regions - complex of the legal, organizational, scientific, financial and other measures directed to achievement of sustainable development of regions on the basis of combination of economic, social and ecological interests at the nation-wide and regional levels, the most effective use of capacity of regions for the benefit of their inhabitants and the state in general;
the depressive territory - the region or its part (the area or the settlement) which are recognized depressive under conditions and according to the procedure, determined by this Law;
the industrial district - the area in which the share occupied in the industry exceeds share occupied in agricultural industry, and also areas, in the territory of which the coal-mining and uglepererabatyvayushchy companies staying in stage of closing;
the rural district - the area in which the share occupied in agricultural industry exceeds share occupied in the industry;
settlements in the territory of which since 1996 the coal-mining and uglepererabatyvayushchy companies were liquidated, but were not performed in full the actions for the solution of social and economic and environmental issues provided by projects of liquidation of the specified companies.
