for the purpose of elimination of technical barriers in economic and trade relations,
noting the international importance of questions on standardization, metrology, assessments of conformity of products and accreditation, and also importance of their decision for successful trade and economic and technical cooperation,
considering mutual interest in development of standardization, metrology, assessment of conformity of products and accreditation, for the purpose of consumer protection and ensuring confirmation of safety of mutually delivered goods, agreed as follows:
The parties within this agreement are guided by national legal systems of the states parties, without causing damage to interests of both states.
The parties develop and strengthen cooperation in the field of standardization, metrology, assessment of conformity of products and accreditation in the way:
- harmonizations of the operating national systems of standardization and ensuring unity of measurements with requirements and rules of the international similar systems;
- exchange of documents on standardization and information materials in the field of standardization, including the international and national product standards and services in the specified spheres on mutually agreed conditions;
- mutual consultations concerning standardization and metrology, assessment of conformity of products and accreditation;
- holding joint seminars and conferences on questions of standardization, metrology, assessment of conformity of products and accreditation;
- participations in works and meetings within the international organizations in the field of technical regulation and metrology;
- implementation of cooperation on the basis of joint programs.
