About implementation of bar coding of goods

For the purpose of creation of conditions for implementation in Ukraine of information technologies of the automated identification and electronic data exchange and creation of information base for control and management of the commodity-money address the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine DECIDES:

1. Enter since January 1, 1997 marking by subjects of business activity of goods who are made or implemented in Ukraine, bar codes of GS1 according to Regulations on bar coding of goods.

To the ministry of external commercial relations and trade, the Ministry of Economics, the Ministry of statistics together with the interested ministries and departments and with the assistance of Association of Commodity Numbering of Ukraine (EAN - Ukraine) till September 1, 1996 to develop and approve Regulations on bar coding of goods.

2. Accept the offer of Association of Commodity Numbering of Ukraine on the organization by it of the work connected with assignment of bar codes of GS1 and creation of the Central depositary of bar codes of domestic goods for providing bodies of the state executive authority with necessary information.

3. To provide to the ministry of external commercial relations and trade, the Ministry of Economics, the Ministry of statistics, the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of transport, the Ministry of Justice, the State Customs Committee, the Kiev city public administration Associations of Commodity Numbering of Ukraine necessary assistance in creation of the Central depositary of bar codes of domestic goods.
