About streamlining of traditions, celebrations and ceremonies in the Republic of Tajikistan
This Law arranges traditions, celebrations and ceremonies taking into account requirements of development of society and is directed to protection of true values of national culture and respect for folk customs for increase in social and economic level of life of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan.
1. The purpose of this Law is protection of social interests of the people of Tajikistan, assistance to decrease in level of poverty and prevention of the excessive expenses causing serious damage to economic interests and moral foundations of life of citizens. The law is also aimed at providing the rights and freedoms of citizens and public order.
2. Task of this Law is streamlining of traditions, celebrations and ceremonies on the basis of national culture and achievements of world civilization.
3. Operation of this Law extends to state bodies, self-government institutions of settlements and villages, the companies, organizations and other organizations, irrespective of departmental subordination and patterns of ownership, and also to all physical persons, irrespective of their social position and national identity.
4. Ethnic minorities within this Law are free in respect for the traditions, celebrations and ceremonies.
In this Law the following basic concepts are used:
- tradition - set of material and moral values of social and cultural heritage of society or the separate public groups passing from generation to generation;
- ceremony - set of the symbolical actions expressing the relation of persons and social groups to the important phenomena of cultural life of society;
