About short supply chains of agrofood products

Chapter I. Basic provisions

Article 1. Regulation subject

(1) This law establishes the legal basis for promotion of short supply chains of agrofood products in the Republic of Moldova.

(This law regulates 2), in particular:

a) organization and functioning of short supply chains;

b) identification of consumers and their informing on participation of economic operators, outlets and catering establishments in short supply chains;

c) simplification of access for operators of short supply chains to the market on the basis of the principles of transparency and equality;

d) measures of support of development of short supply chains;

e) integration of the corresponding criteria into system of public procurements;

f) institutional coordination, realization and monitoring of application of this law.

Article 2. Purpose and tasks of this law

(1) the Purpose of this law is development of the stable and steady agrofood system providing decrease in impact on the environment and promoting the balanced regional development by promotion of short supply chains of agrofood products.

(2) For goal achievement, the provided part (1), this law is directed, in particular, to accomplishment of the following tasks:

a) reducing carbon trace and other negative impacts on the environment connected with production, conversion, packaging, transportation and realization of agrofood products;

b) reducing irrational consumption of foodstuff and inefficient use of natural resources;

c) assistance to access for producers and other economic operators of short supply chains to trade organizations and consumers;

d) strengthening of food stability and safety due to diversification of supply sources and reducing logistics chains;

e) increase in transparency for consumers concerning origin, ecological characteristics and stability of agrofood products;
