2. This resolution becomes effective since July 1, 2007.

Regulations on the State committee of Ukraine on water economy

1. The state committee of Ukraine on water economy (Gosvodkhoz) is the central executive body which activities go and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine through the Minister of protection of the surrounding environment.

2. Gosvodkhoz in the activities is guided by the Constitution and the laws of Ukraine, resolutions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the presidential decrees of Ukraine adopted according to the Constitution and the laws of Ukraine, acts of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, this Provision, and also orders of the Minister of protection of the surrounding environment.

Gosvodkhoz generalizes practice of application of the legislation on questions which are within its competence, develops offers concerning enhancement of this legislation and in accordance with the established procedure submits them for consideration of the Minister of protection of the surrounding environment. Within the powers the Committee organizes accomplishment of acts of the legislation and exercises systematic control of their realization.

3. The main tasks of Gosvodkhoz are:

participation in forming and ensuring realization of state policy concerning development of water economy and land reclamation, management of industry and implementation of single technical policy, implementation of achievements of science and technology, new technologies and the best practices of work;
