Section I. General principles

Article 1. Concept of the state protection of public authorities of Ukraine and officials

The state protection of public authorities of Ukraine and officials (further - the state protection) is system of organization-legal, regime, operational search, technical and other measures which are performed by specially authorized state bodies for the purpose of ensuring normal functioning of public authorities of Ukraine, safety of the officials and objects determined by this Law.

Are not considered as the state protection regulated by this Law, measures of security nature which are performed by state bodies for the purpose of safety of participants of criminal trial, other persons and objects, except determined by this Law.

Article 2. Legal basis of the state protection

The legal basis of the state protection is constituted by the Constitution of Ukraine, the international agreements of Ukraine, this and other laws of Ukraine, acts of the President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and also the departmental and interdepartmental regulatory legal acts governing the relations in the field of the state protection.

Article 3. Basic principles of the state protection

The state protection is performed on the principles of legality, continuity, respect for the rights, freedoms, advantage of man and citizen, one-man management.

Article 4. State protection of public authorities of Ukraine

The state protection is performed in the relation:

Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine;

Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;

Constitutional court of Ukraine;

Supreme Court.
