About system of Public television and broadcasting of Ukraine

For the purpose of comprehensive requirements satisfaction of society in operational information, ensuring pluralistic nature of broadcasting, considering national traditions, moral ethical principles of the Ukrainian people, the system of Public television and broadcasting of Ukraine (further - Public TV and radio broadcasting) acting on the basis Constitutions of Ukraine, the Law of Ukraine "About information", the Law of Ukraine "About television and broadcasting", other laws regulating activities of the teleradio organizations as subjects of information and economic activity, and this Law is created.

Article 1. Status of Public TV and radio broadcasting

Public TV and radio broadcasting is the teleradio organization with the status of single national indivisible and non-profitable system of mass communication which is object of the property right of the Ukrainian people and is effective according to the single program concept.

Public TV and radio broadcasting is based on wide representation of different sectors of society which through the representatives in Public council provide implementation of the program concept and exercise control of financial and economic activities of the teleradio organization.

The program concept of activities of Public TV and radio broadcasting is periodically reviewed taking into account tendencies of social development and satisfaction of the right of citizens to freely receive, use and distribute information.
