Millie Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic, being guided by Items 1, of 10, 15 and 23 parts I of article 94 of the Constitution of the Azerbaijan Republic, decides:

Article 1. In the Code of mercantile shipping of the Azerbaijan Republic (The collection of the legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic, 2001, No. 7, Article 444 (volume I); 2024, No. 2, Article 134, No. 4, Article 365; 2025, No. 1, Article 1; 2026, No. 1, Article 2) to make the following changes:

1.1. Add Article 2.2-1 – 2.2-3 and 3.1-1 following contents:

"2.2-1. The autonomous vessel – the civil vessel capable to move by means of automated control system without direct or continuous intervention of the person throughout any part of flight or throughout all flight.

2.2-2. The operator of the autonomous vessel (further referred to as with the operator) – the person which is ensuring functioning of automated control system of the autonomous vessel and having the appropriate certificate.

2.2-3. The center of remote control – control center where functioning of automated control system of the autonomous vessel is remotely ensured".
