1. The state committee of archives of Ukraine (Госкомархив) is the central executive body in the field of archiving and clerical work which activities go and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine through the Minister of Culture and Tourism.
Госкомархив provides realization of state policy in the field of archiving and clerical work, and also cross-industry coordination and functional regulation on questions which are within its competence, bears responsibility for condition of archiving and clerical work and their further development.
2. Госкомархив in the activities is guided by the Constitution and the laws of Ukraine, presidential decrees of Ukraine and resolutions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine accepted according to the Constitution and the laws of Ukraine, acts of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and also this Provision.
