About symbolics of the Red Cross, Red Crescent, Red Crystal in Ukraine

This Law determines procedure and conditions of use and protection of symbolics of the Red Cross, Red Crescent, the Red Crystal in the territory of Ukraine according to requirements of the Geneva Conventions on protection of the victims of war of August 12, 1949 and Additional protocols to them of June 8, 1977 and on December 8, 2005 and also Governed on use of the emblems of red cross or red crescent by national Societies accepted by the XX Vienna International conference of the Red Cross of 1965 and reviewed by Council of delegates in Budapest in 1991, and the Resolution 1, adopted at the XXIX International conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in 2006.

SECTION I. GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1. Determination of terms

In this Law terms are used in the following value:

symbolics of the Red Cross, Red Crescent, Red Crystal (including the International movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent) are emblems of the Red Cross, Red Crescent, the Red Crystal (images according to red cross on white background; red crescent on white background; red framework in the form of square on white background which costs at one of the tops), names (word "Red Cross", "Red crescent", "Red Crystal") and identification signals (special internationally acknowledged auxiliary signals (light, radio-electronic) which are used as protective and identification marks for designation of persons, personal and motionless estate according to the Geneva Conventions on protection of the victims of war of August 12, 1949 (further - the Geneva Conventions), Additional protocols to them and this Law;

wounded and patients - persons (the military personnel and civil), because of injuries, diseases or other physical or mental disturbances or disability needing medical care or leaving and which abstaining at that time from any hostile actions; it concerns also the women in labor, babies and other persons needing for this time medical care or leaving, for example, pregnant or ailing, abstaining at that time from any hostile actions;
