About space activities

This Law determines general legal principles of implementation of space activities in Ukraine and under jurisdiction of Ukraine out of its limits.

Provisions of this Law extends to all types of activity, connected with research and use of space.

Section I. General provisions

Article 1. Determination of terms and concepts

In this Law the stated below terms and concepts are used in the following value:

space activities - scientific space research, use of space, development, production, repair and maintenance, testing, operation, management of objects of space activities (including their aggregates and components), ensuring start, start and return of spacecrafts, their components from space on the earth;

objects of space activities (the space equipment) physical items of artificial origin which are designed, produced and operated as in space (space segment, space infrastructure), and on the Earth's surface (land segment, land infrastructure) with research purpose and uses of space;

subjects of space activities - the company, organization and the organization of any pattern of ownership and form of business, including international and foreign, performing space activities;

the declaration on implementation of economic activity in the field of space activities - the document by which the subject of space activities notifies the central executive body which provides forming and realizes state policy in the field of space activities, on intention to perform space activities;

the spacecraft - the flying technical tool for flights in space and in space for the purpose of its research and use.

space technologies and services - results of scientific developments, methods, means and the services necessary for implementation of space activities, for obtaining and use of results of these activities;

incident - the incident connected with space activities which led to creation of threat of life and human health, and also to damage or destruction of property of citizens, the companies, organizations and organizations or damnification to the environment;
