About participation of Ukraine in the international peace support operations and safety

Understanding the responsibility in maintenance of international peace and safety, considering obligations of Ukraine as state member of the United Nations (further - the UN) to give help of the UN in the actions which are carried out according to the Charter of the UN, and also the obligation as state member of Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (further-) it is constructive to OSCE to cooperate in use of all range of opportunities of OSCE for the prevention of the conflicts and for their decision adhering to the main directions of state policy concerning participation of Ukraine in enhancement and development all-European and the international systems of collective security, and also within constructive partnership with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (further - NATO) and other international organizations in the field of safety, Ukraine considers participation in the international peacekeeping transactions as important component of the foreign policy.

This Law determines legal, organizational and financial basis of participation of Ukraine in the international peacekeeping transactions, and also procedure for the direction by Ukraine of military and civil personnel, the organization of its preparation and providing.

Article 1. Determination of terms

In this Law terms are used in the following value:

international peace support operation and safety - the international actions or actions performed according to decisions of the UN Security Council according to Articles of organization of the United Nations, OSCE, other international organizations which bear responsibility in the field of maintenance of international peace and safety, according to provisions of Chapter VIII of the Charter of the UN, and equally in action and event of the multinational forces created with the consent of the UN Security Council which are held under general control of the UN Security Council for the purpose of:
