About beekeeping

This Law governs the relations on cultivation, use and protection of bees, production, procurement and conversion of products of beekeeping, effective use of bees for pollination of entomophillous plants of agricultural purpose, other types of the pollinated flora, to creation of conditions for increase in productivity of bees and crops, providing guarantees of observance of the rights and protection of interests of the physical persons and legal entities which are going in for beekeeping.

Section I. General provisions

Article 1. Determination of terms

In this Law the stated below terms are used in the following value:

beekeeping - industry of agricultural production which basis of functioning is cultivation, content and use of bees for pollination of entomophillous plants of agricultural purpose and increase in their productivity, production of foodstuff and raw materials for the industry;

the beekeeper - the physical person who is engaged in content and cultivation of bees, production and primary conversion of products of beekeeping;

the working bee - female with underdeveloped genitals who pollinates plants collects nectar, pollen and develops beekeeping products;

queen bee - the female providing reproduction of bee family;

drone - male of queen bee;

bee family - the complete biological unit consisting of one queen bee, 15-60 thousand on average of working bees and about two thousand drones;

breed of bees - complete group of bee families of general origin with steady characteristic biological signs which developed in the course of natural and artificial selection, extended to the territories with certain climatic and medosborny conditions;

native (local) bees - breeds and populations of bees which for a long time are inhabiting certain territory and which arose here in the course of evolution;

breeding bee family - the highly productive family of thoroughbred bees with firmness transferring to posterity the pedigree signs;

breeding apiary - the apiary intended for reproduction, improvement and removal of bees of certain breed, preserving the existing gene pool of bees;
