About implantation of electropacemakers
In this Law the term "electropacemaker" is meant by the artificial driver of rhythm of heart or the kardioverter-defibrilyator implanted (implanted) to the person for the purpose of recovery and normalization of rhythm of heart.
Implantation (implantation) of electropacemakers is performed only on medical indications according to general rules of carrying out the surgeries established by the legislation of Ukraine.
The central executive body providing forming of state policy in the field of health care:
approves procedure for creation and maintaining the nation-wide register of the patients needing implantation of electropacemakers;
determines taking into account internationally acknowledged evidence-based criteria the list of medical indications for application of implantation of electropacemakers, provides periodic review of this list and finishing it to local executive bodies and healthcare institutions;
develops offers on the sources and the amounts of financing necessary for ensuring purchase of enough electropacemakers and implementation of transactions on their implantation, and annually represents the specified offers to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for accounting of the corresponding expenses in the Government budget of Ukraine;
determines procedure of medical control of the state of health of the patients living with electropacemakers, conditions and replacement procedure of electropacemakers such patient;
coordinates activities of healthcare institutions for questions of performing implantation of electropacemakers;
takes part in development of offers on development of national production of modern electropacemakers.
