The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides:

1. Approve the Basic principles of development of information society in Ukraine for 2007 - 2015 which are applied.

2. To the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine:

develop the mechanism of realization of tasks on development of information society in Ukraine for 2007 - 2015;

prepare and submit offers on introduction of amendments to the laws of Ukraine following from this Law for consideration of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine;

in six-months time from the date of entry into force of this Law to bring the regulatory legal acts into accord with this Law.

3. This Law becomes effective from the date of its publication.

The basic principles of development of information society in Ukraine for 2007 - 2015

I. General provisions

One of the main priorities of Ukraine is the aspiration to construct the information society oriented to interests of people, opened for all and aimed at the development in which everyone could create and accumulate information and knowledge, to have to them open entry, to use and exchange them to give the chance to each person fully to realize the potential, promoting social and personal development and increasing quality of life.

Ukraine has own history of development of basic bases of information society: activities of world famous school of cybernetics; forming in the early nineties last century of the concept and program of informatization; creation of various information and communication technologies (further - ICT) and nation-wide information and analytical systems of different level and appointment.
