in view of that contribution which can bring active and close information exchange in defense area in forming of common information space, unity of the people and armies, consolidation of the Commonwealth of Independent States,

proceeding from basic importance and need of approval and coordination of work of information structures of the Joint Armed Forces of the Commonwealth and Armed Forces of the Parties on exchange of open military information and forming in public opinion of understanding of importance and need of joint and collective security,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The terms used in this agreement mean:

1. "Military information" - the printing, audiovisual and other messages and materials containing the open information about the Joint Armed Forces of the Commonwealth and Armed Forces of the Parties, construction and functioning national and collective security systems.

2. "Bodies of information" - bodies and mass media of the Joint Armed Forces of the Commonwealth and Armed Forces of the Parties to which within their competence are charged search, obtaining, processing, storage and distribution of open military information.

3. "Information services" - the organization of meetings of representatives of mass media and the public with representatives of command, the military personnel of military units, military schools, companies, organizations, other military facilities of the Joint Armed Forces of the Commonwealth and Armed Forces of the Parties.
