About activities of the Ministry of Justice

For the purpose of accomplishment of the Program of activities of the Government of the Republic of Moldova for 2001-2005 "Revival the ekonomikivozrozhdeny countries" the Ministry of Justice as specialized body of public management performed number of the measures connected with proper accomplishment of the obligations assigned to it in the field of management of justice, development and further enhancement of the national legal system, reduction of the domestic legislation in compliance with provisions of international treaties and the right of the European community, ensuring execution of the punishments, other conditions necessary for functioning of the constitutional state.

For the period, subject to control, the bill on declaring of the income and control of property of government officials, judges, prosecutors, government employees and some leading persons, number of essential changes and amendments was provided to the Government to the Criminal code, the Code of penal procedure, to the Code of Administrative Offences, etc. The staff of the Ministry of Justice actively participates in activities of working groups on project completion of new codes, in structures of the commissions on coordinating of activities of bodies of local public authority, etc. In the conditions of insufficient financing from the government budget within penal system activities for release of industrial output, further increase in agricultural production therefore their specific weight increased in charges of prisoners were stirred up.

At the same time the Government of the Republic of Moldova notes that in activities of the Ministry of Justice there is number of shortcomings and defects.

The Ministry of Justice does not provide in full and at the scheduled time accomplishment of all measures for program implementation of activities of the Government and own program of activities, some drafts of regulations are developed with delay, and their quality in most cases does not conform to requirements.
