About basic provisions of special legal status of settlements of left bank of Dniester (Transnistria)

Being guided by provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, for the purpose of strengthening of unity of the people, recovery of territorial integrity of the state, creation of single legal, economic, defense, social, customs, humanitarian space and other single spaces, and also providing the civil world, trust, mutual understanding and consent in society, stability, safety and democratic development of the state;

Based on respect for rule of law, human rights and ethnic minorities and having been sure that political settlement of the Dnestr problem can be achieved only on the basis of the peaceful solution excluding use of military and other power operations and also on the principles of democratization and demilitarization of Transnistria;

Relying on collective efforts of the international community on achievement by the Republic of Moldova of territorial integrity, civil unity and ensuring access of all population of the country to the operating democratic institutes;

In view of need of rendering to the population of Transnistria of humanitarian, political, social and economic and legal assistance for overcoming effects of the conflict,

The Parliament adopts this organic law.

Art. 1. - (1) In implementation of policy of reintegration of the Republic of Moldova, based on the Resolution of Parliament of the Republic of Moldova No. 117-XVI of June 10, 2005 negotiation process with Transnistria is carried out for goal achievement of democratization and demilitarization of Transnistria.
