About privatization of housing stock in the Republic of Belarus

This Law determines economic, legal, social conditions and procedure for privatization of the state housing stock in the territory of the Republic of Belarus. It is directed to creation of conditions for implementation of the right of citizens at free choice of method of requirements satisfaction to housing, and also on ensuring effective use and content of housing stock.

Section I. General provisions

Article 1. Privatization of housing stock is understood as acquisition in property of the premises of the state housing stock occupied by citizens.

Article 2. Basic principles of privatization of housing:

voluntary conveyance to citizens of the Republic of Belarus of the premises occupied by them according to the procedure, established by this Law if other procedure is not established by the President of the Republic of Belarus;

interrelation of privatization with the solution of housing problem;

voluntary basis;

combination of paid and non-paid nature;

equal rights of all citizens of the Republic of Belarus to participation in privatization of housing stock;

publicity, state and public control over privatization process.

Section II. Subjects and subjects to privatization

Article 3. Subjects of privatization are citizens of the Republic of Belarus, and also foreign citizens and stateless persons who constantly live in the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

Article 4. Subjects to privatization are premises of the state housing stock.
