The government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan which further are referred to as with the Parties

proceeding from need of legal regulation of process of labor migration and creating favorable conditions for free movement of labor power between two states,

wishing to provide protection of social, economic and other rights of migrant workers,

being guided by the universally recognized norms and the principles of international law,

based on the principles containing in the Agreement on cooperation in the field of labor migration and social protection of migrant workers signed by heads of states - members of the Commonwealth of Independent States on April 15, 1994,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

This agreement regulates questions of labor activity and protection of the rights of the migrant workers who are citizens of the Russian Federation and citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Article 2

1. Action of this agreement extends to all migrant workers regardless of floor, race, language, religion or beliefs, political or different views, the national, ethnic or social origin, age, economic, property, marital status or any other sign which is not connected with business qualities of the worker.

2. Nothing in this agreement exempts migrant workers from obligation to observe the legislation of the host state, the provision of this agreement, to respect culture and traditions of the people of the host state.

Article 3

In this agreement the following terms are used:

"migrant worker" - the person who is the citizen of the state of one Party, reached 18 years legally staying in the territory of the state of other Party and legally engaged in it in paid labor activity;
