Being guided by the Constitution (Fundamental law) of the Republic of Belarus and the Declaration on the state sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus, proceeding from rules of international law, realizing vital need of revival of the Belarusian culture, preserving its originality, integrity and creating favorable conditions for its further development, as well as for cultural development of citizens of the Republic of Belarus of all nationalities, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Belarus adopts the Law of the Republic of Belarus "About culture to the Republic of Belarus".
The law is directed on:
realization of the sovereign rights of the Republic of Belarus in the field of culture;
implementation of the principles of ideological and political independence of culture of social and political structures;
creation of legal conditions for free self-development of cultural processes;
providing material and financial guarantees of cultural development and social protection of cultural workers in the conditions of the market relations.
The legislation on culture in the Republic of Belarus consists of this Law and other legal acts of the Republic of Belarus adopted according to it.
