About internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus
This Law determines the organizational and legal basis of activities of internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus (further - internal troops), procedure for accomplishment of the tasks assigned to them, guarantees of legal and social protection of the military personnel of internal troops and members of their families.
Internal troops – the state military organization intended for protection of life, health, the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens, society and the state, the constitutional system, safety and sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus from criminal and other illegal encroachments.
The main objectives of internal troops are:
participation in protection of public order, ensuring public safety;
protection of corrective labor colonies, medical correctional facilities and implementation together with their administrations of supervision of convicts;
convoy and protection of the convicts and persons who are held in custody;
participation in search of persons who made escape from under protection and supervision in correctional facilities from army guard in case of convoy;
protection of especially important state objects and particular loads;
participation in safety of protected persons and the protected objects;
participation in providing the modes of extraordinary and military provisions, legal regime in zone of carrying out counter-terrorist operation;
neutralization and destruction of unexploded aviation ammunition, other unexploded ammunition in settlements, work on verification of messages on installation of destructive devices, their detection, neutralization and destruction in all territory of the Republic of Belarus;
participation in actions for strengthening of protection of Frontier of the Republic of Belarus;
participation in territorial defense of the Republic of Belarus.
