This Law establishes bases of legal regulation of the relations in the field of production, procurement, realization, use for crops of seeds, and also the relation between producers, suppliers, consumers of seeds and is aimed at providing control from the state of production, procurement, realization and use of seeds.
The relations developing in the field of production, procurement, realization, use for crops of seeds are regulated by this Law, other acts of the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.
The relations in the field of use in the economic purposes of seeds of grades of genetic engineering plants are governed taking into account the features provided by the Law of the Republic of Belarus of January 9, 2006 "About safety of genetically engineered activities" (The national register of legal acts of the Republic of Belarus, 2006, No. 9, 2/1193), and also the regulatory legal acts adopted according to it.
In this Law the following concepts and their determinations are applied:
seeds - the generative and vegetative bodies including meristematic materials, fruits, parts of difficult fruits, compound fruits, bulbs, tubers, landing material of all agricultural, forest, fruit, berry, decorative, flower, the herbs intended for crops or landing;
